Solution: AN AI-boosted circular economy market with integrated community.
► After a research phase, it emerged that one of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental impact of cities would be to decrease waste amounts. I used AI to get a preliminary list of ideas on how this could be achieved, but I was not satisfied with these ideas; they were either too predictable or too cumbersome but helped to kickstart the idea process.
That process landed on a fairly straightforward question: Would it be possible to create a new take on second-hand markets?
My target group analysis and corresponding user survey resulted in three personas who would definitely be interested in this, but a new approach was needed to make it work.
► The hypothesis I chose to work with involves combining three concepts that are not unique individually but together could potentially achieve the goals: A second-hand market with a circular economy theme where what is bought and sold generates circular economy points. The target audience for the service is one that wants to advocate for a circular economy, therefore in an integrated community, they are given the possibility to share their buying and selling activities as well as the algorithm-generated points this results in.
► I ideated the name for the service to be Cirklify; this should communicate in a quite obvious to the target audience what it's all about; supporting circular economy.
The points that users earn are called Cirklify Points and are generated by an algorithm that takes many aspects into consideration.
► The service also offers an AI-supported sharing function; the items the users buys or sells can using this easily be dramatized visually, and suggestions for the text content are provided. The posts can, of course, also be shared on other platforms.
